Hawaii

I guess it's about time I post our pictures from Hawaii. It was a great experience. Jackson and I had a hard time being at the beach the whole time but we were able to do other things and had a great time. The weather was great and we didn't get much from the tropical storm. Orion had a great time playing in the pool and the sand. He was swimming so well. He was kicking his legs and scooping his arms. He definitely loves the water. Persephone got better about being in the pool and wasn't so scared. Jackson, Persephone and I got to go to Pearl Harbor while Orion played at the beach with grandma and grandpa. We really enjoyed seeing the USS Arizona memorial (Persephone called it the quiet place) and the USS Missouri. It gave me a great appreciation for my grandpa St Clair. He was there during the attach and I am glad he was OK or I would not have even been born. We really had a great time. The flight was long home and at night. We were very tired but glad to be home.
This is the day we went to Pearl Harbor. Persephone really loved exploring the different things they had around the USS Bowfinger. Only Jackson got to go on that because they won't let little kids.

These are pictures from the USS Arizona memorial. It was a truly humbling experience. We had to be very quiet because it is considered a grave site. People were cutting up lei's and dropping the flowers in the water. We could even see the oil still seeping to the surface. They call it "black tears."
The USS Missouri was so fun. It is the ship that the treaty was signed on to end WWII. We got to go to many parts of the ship. We saw bunks, offices, a cafeteria, dish room, and personal quarters. It was so fun and exhausting. It took us about two hours to go through it all and we did it semi fast with Persephone. We ended up having a great time.

Pictures of the kids!

Well, I finally did it. I got professional pictures of the kids. It was not easy but definitely worth it. I decided to do it for Jackson's father's day present. It was hard to get Orion to sit long enough to get a good shot but Persephone was perfect. We could have gotten hundreds of her. It was fun in the end and totally worth it. I will have these forever and will be able to remember them this way. Here are my two adorable munchkins.
(For those of you waiting for photo's these are not all the ones I have. Some are just on the CD. So, I hope you like these and I will get them out to you as soon as possible.)

The Kids

I finally, after months of trying, got a picture of the kids together. Now I know that Orion doesn't look that great but I am just so proud of the fact that I finally got them to stand together long enough to snap a shot. I just had to put it up here. The rest are just for fun. Enjoy!

Persephone's Graduation!

Persephone finally had her graduation from preschool. She was such a good girl this year. We had our struggles with a boy, different teachers and her perfectionism but she really made a lot of progress. We were all sad to hear that the school was closing but these things happen. Jackson and I will continue to teach her at home. We read, write letters and numbers, sight words, computer games and activity books. She still loves to do anatomy as well. Well Done our precious little girl. (The last picture is the gift we gave her teacher! It was fun to put together.)

Julie's Birthday!

It was Julie's birthday on Sunday. It was decided to let her have the day off cooking. So, we went to Rodizio's. It was so fun to see the family! We all had a great time. We gave Julie a CD of Jackson talking when he was about Orion's age, some pretty white roses, and Persephone made her a painting with her finger paint that we put in a fame. (We also gave her a pack of Diet Coke which she thought was so funny!) I hope she had a great birthday and hope this year brings many wonderful things. (Hopefully some more grandkids, not from us!)

Dusty made her a heart picture, she loves hearts, and she got really teary eyed.

Persephone helped make the frosting for the cake and got to lick the beaters! She loved that!
